Bobcat hockey looks to make jump to varsity

Boosters have raised funds to pay for two seasons, voters get their say Tuesday

PLYMOUTH — After three years as a club sport, the Plymouth hockey team is making a bid to be a full-time varsity sport next winter. And voters in the Pemi-Baker School District will have a chance to vote on whether the Bobcats can compete at the varsity level next season. Warrant article six on the school district ballot on Tuesday, March 10, is to see if the voters will vote to ask the school board to convert the ice hockey team to a full varsity sport for the 2015-2016 school year. The warrant article requests no funds, as the Bobcat Ice Hockey Boosters have raised enough funds to pay for next season and anticipate raising enough through the end of the year to pay for two full years of hockey....more>
