COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. — The sun was shining down on Center Village on Nov. 8 where a huge crowd congregated for the 2015 U.S. Alpine Ski Team to be introduced during Nature Valley First Tracks at Copper Mountain, Colo. The energy at Copper Mountain, home of the U.S. Ski Team Speed Center, was palpable. Olympic gold medalists Ted Ligety (Park City, Utah), Lindsey Vonn (Vail, Colo.), Bode Miller (Franconia) and Mikaela Shiffrin (Eagle-Vail, Colo.) were on hand as 42 athletes were named during a public celebration to kick off the start of the 2015 Audi FIS Alpine World Cup and Vail/Beaver Creek 2015 World Championships winter. ...more>

Woodsville soccer girls fall to Derryfield in Division IV championship game

LACONIA — There will be a new banner for the Woodsville soccer girls to hang, but it was not the one they were hoping for. As was the case last year, the Engineers came up short in the finals, this year falling to Derryfield by a 5-1 final on Sunday, Nov. 9, in Laconia. "We knew we were in for a tough game, they're a really good passing team," Woodsville coach Ann Loud said. "We've got to do a better job marking up and finding a way to shut her (Derryfield's Gabi Brummett) down."...more>
