Icy roads claim the life of Franconia man

FRANCONIA—The fast freezing of North Country roads on Tuesday, Nov. 29, tragically took the life of Patrick Spencer, age 66, of Franconia. Woodsville girls knock off Patriots in season opener

BETHLEHEM — The Profile Patriots girls' basketball team kicked off the 2016 season with a home game on Friday, Dec. 2, against the Woodsville Engineers but it wouldn't go quite as well as they would have hoped for as the Patriots fell in their home opener by a score of 30-14. It was an up and down, fast paced but low scoring game with quite a few turnovers in the early going but the Engineers would settle down as Brianna Robbins knocked down a jumper from the corner, which sparked an 8-0 Woodsville run as Molly Clough came up with a steal and finish, Courtney Derrington knocked down a corner two and Lily Kinder finished off a hard drive to the basket to put the Engineers up 8-0 quick....more>
