Defensive adjustment sends Eagles past Belmont, 24-13

GILFORD Thanks to a second half adjustment, the Gilford High School girls' lacrosse team was able to pull away for a badly-needed victory on May 17. The host Golden Eagles switched senior Dana Ruchti onto Belmont High School star Allivia Burbank, and the squad went on an 12-1 run in the second half to turn a close game into a convincing 24-13 victory in Division III play at the Meadows. "We made a couple of second half adjustments on defense," explained Gilford head coach Mike Normandin. "Dana did a great job against (Burbank), who is a great player. She tore us apart in the first half."...more>
