Spartan soccer girls open season with a win over Mountaineers

BERLIN — On Friday, Aug. 28, the Spartans and the Mountaineers opened their season with an old fashioned North Country battle. White Mountains bested the young team from Berlin with a 6-0 win. Early in the first half, Spartan defender Hallie Chancey made a nice save, taking the pressure off new goalie Amy Komisarak. Assistant coach Brent Covell said, "Amy started in goal for her first ever game at the position and played very well. In the second half our freshman goalie, Lydia Beaulieau got a taste of the varsity game." Komisarak made a total of five saves....more>
