February 13, 2012GILFORD — The Prospect Mountain ski team got in its final race of the regular season on Friday, Feb. 10.
The Timber Wolves competed in an afternoon giant slalom race at Gunstock to round out the regular season and tuneup for the state championships.
The Prospect girls came home sixth overall, with Division III powers Bishop Brady and Bow skiing to top honors, with Oyster River finishing third. The Timber Wolves finished behind Hopkinton by 13 points.
Angela Tidd led the way for the Timber Wolves with her fifth place finish overall in a time of 1:14.14. She had the second-fastest time on the second run.
Haley Dame was a solid second for the Timber Wolf girls, as she finished seventh overall in 1:17.38.
Marta Rodriguez de Federico was the third Prospect skier, as she raced to 58th place in a time of 1:45.24 for her two runs.
Amanda Zaino rounded out the scoring for the Timber Wolves, placing 59th in a time of 1:45.52.
Shawna Beckwith (65th, 1:52.28) and Jaime Fogell (66th, 1:52.69) also skied for the Timber Wolves.
The Timber Wolf boys finished 10th on the day, just eight points behind White Mountains and 10 points behind Newfound.
Tom Pasquariello was the top Timber Wolf, as he skied to 31st place in a time of 1:27.46.
Carl Stohlberg was the second Prospect skier, as he placed 35th in 1:28.33.
Tim Scahill finished third among Timber Wolves, skiing to a time of 1:35.26, which placed him 50th overall.
Jake Troy rounded out the scoring with a 60th place finish in a time of 1:50.43.
Chris Magill (62nd, 1:53.47) and Jared Cowing (66th, 2:25.02) also skied for the Timber Wolves.
The Prospect boys were in action after deadline Monday, Feb. 13, for their State Meet, while the girls competed after deadline Tuesday, Feb. 14, in their State Meet. Both meets were held at Gunstock.
