WOLFEBORO — The Brewster boys' basketball team returned from Thanksgiving break with a vengeance, running to a 101-44 win over Holderness on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Smith Center.

JaKarr Sampson got things off and running for Brewster, as he scored the Bobcats' first eight points and 10 of the first 12 as the hosts jumped out to a 12-3 lead on Holderness.

The first hoop came off a nice feed from Joe Bramanti and the fourth hoop came when Sampson stole the ball near midcourt and took it all the way to the hoop with a big jam.

Bramanti scored the only two points not scored by Sampson in the first run, but then the rest of the Bobcats started getting in on the action.

Semaj Christon went baseline for a hoop and Mitch McGary finished a possession with a big dunk as the Bobcats upped the lead to 16-5. After a John Edwards block, TJ Warren grabbed a rebound and put it back at the other end for an 18-5 lead.

Though Holderness got a pair of free throws, a jumper from Gilbert McGregor and back-to-back buckets from Warren upped the lad to 24-7.

Edwards then completed a three-point play for a 27-9 lead before Holderness finally reached double digits about midway through the first half.

A Warren hoop stretched the lead to 29-11, but Holderness got a three-pointer to cut into the lead. Christon then converted a three-point play and Richard O'Brien drained a three-pointer to up the lead to 35-14.

Edwards hit another hoop, Christon hit a free throw and Warren converted a three-point play to push the lead to 41-19 and Christon then finished off a steal by McGary for two more points. The Xavier-bound point guard then hit three free throws to make it a 46-19 lead and Sampson hit from the line to add a point.

Bramanti got a steal and a bucket to push the lead to 30 and after a Holderness three-pointer, Sampson got a tip for two. Holderness hit again from beyond the arc, but Jalen Reynolds hit a hoop and Rudolfs Arnicans drilled a three-pointer to send the Bobcats to the half with a 56-25 lead.

Sampson opened the scoring in the second half with a three-point play and Warren had hoops sandwiched around a Holderness bucket. Reynolds hit back-to-back shots for a 67-26 lead and after a Holderness three-pointer, McGary hit a hoop. Reynolds then finished off an Edwards steal with a big dunk to make it 71-29.

Holderness managed to string two baskets together, but Reynolds hit two from the line. After another Holderness hoop, Warren and Sampson hit back-to-back shots for a 77-36 lead and after a Holderness score, Brewster went on a 14-0 run.

Warren hit the first hoop and Bramanti followed. Sampson got a steal and a hoop and Warren did the same. Reynolds hit back-to-back shots and Edwards closed out the run, bringing the score to 91-38 before Holderness hit two from the line and a field goal.

McGregor got a tip for two and after another visitor hoop, McGregor took a great pass from Cameron Jones for a 95-44 lead.

Jones then hit back-to-back hoops, the first coming after a big block from Edwards and the second coming on a great pass from Arnicans.

Edwards then finished off the scoring with a monstrous dunk to bring down the house and close out the contest.

Warren finished with 21 points on the night, while Sampson chipped in with 20. Reynolds added 14 points, 12 coming in the second half, while Christon added 11 and Edwards chipped in with nine.

The Bobcats will host their annual invitational this weekend, with the first game coming on Friday, Dec. 9, at 5 p.m. The tournament continues on Saturday.
