Search for missing hiker continues

September 21, 2011
RUMNEY — Local authorities are continuing their search today for a Plymouth man who went missing while hiking in Rumney Monday.

Thomas Perkins, 25, was last seen on Monday near the Rumney Rocks recreation area, where police believe he planned to hike the trails along Buffalo Road. He did not return home as planned Monday night, prompting his family to contact authorities.

An extensive search conducted by the Rumney Police Department, in conjunction with the New Hampshire State Police and New Hampshire Fish and Game conservation officers Tuesday afternoon turned up no trace of Perkins, and the search resumed this morning.

Perkins is described as standing five feet, eight inches tall and weighing 125 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing gray pants and a light brown hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information on Perkins' whereabouts is encouraged to contact the State Police at 846-3333 or the Fish and Game Department at 271-3128.
