Bobcats tackle great competition at Great Glen

PINKHAM NOTCH — The Plymouth cross country teams joined a number of other squads at the Paul Letarte Invitational at the Great Glen Trails at the base of Mount Washington on Saturday morning.

The Plymouth boys came away with an eighth place finish overall, while the Bobcat girls ran to 11th on the day.

Mike Maclean led the way for the Bobcat boys, as the senior finished 11th overall in a time of 17:55. James Godin of Dover took the win with a time of 16:34.

The Bobcats were able to put their next three runners in the top 50, which helped garner some key points.

Sophomore Colin Nelson-Peck ran to 34th overall I a time of 19:19, while Matt Sanborn raced to 43rd overall in a time of 19:49 to finish third among Plymouth runners. Nathaniel Smyth grabbed a 48th place finish with his time of 20:00 to finish fourth for the Bobcats.

Cody Gookins was the final scorer for the Plymouth boys, as he ran to 74th overall in a time of 21:37.

Timothy Bolan (77th, 21:45) and Ryan Milton (80th, 21:57) also ran in the varsity race for the Bobcats.

In the JV race, Luke Robins was the top Bobcats finisher, as he crossed in a time of 23:05 to take 47th place, one spot and seven seconds ahead of Jot Sandhu, who crossed in 23:12. Colton Hyde was 60th in 24:13 and Sam Harrigan finished 72nd in 24:48. Corbin Holland placed 74th in 24:57 and Colby Simpson was 83rd in 25:50.

On the girls' side, Plymouth was led by junior Sarah Uhlman, who raced to 46th place overall in a time of 25:07 Fellow junior Maggie Gaiero was close behind, crossing in 48th place in a time of 25:08. Sophomore Colleen Healy put forth a great effort to finish close behind both her teammates, clocking in at 25:12 for 50th place.

Jordan Legacy was fourth among the Bobcats, crossing in 59th place in a time of 25:54, while Kat Bishop was the final scorer for Plymouth with a time of 26:08 for 65th place. Stephanie Gaiero ran to 82nd place in a time of 28:45 to round out the field of Bobcats.

The Bobcats will be heading to Laconia on Saturday for their next meet.
