Pittsburg shooting suspect indicted for murder

May 11, 2011
LANCASTER — The man accused of killing one and injuring two more in a November shooting in Pittsburg has been indicted on murder charges.

Kenneth Arsenault, 50 of Stewartstown, is accused of killing 21-year-old Justin Flanders in Pittsburg on Nov. 2. Shooting victims Tanya Rancloes, 30 of Colebrook and Jessie Parker, 25 of Littleton, survived the attack at Arsenault's Pittsburg home and were able to run for help despite being wounded by the shotgun blasts.

Arsenault is charged with first degree murder, and an alternate charge of second degree murder, for the death of Flanders. He was indicted by a Cos Grand Jury on April 28, on that and additional charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault for the injuries to Rancloes and Parker.

Arsenault reportedly told police at the time of his arrest that he had lured Rancloes to his home to sell Suboxone, an addictive narcotic used to treat Oxycodone addicts. He is accused of lying in wait and shooting all three of the occupants of the truck when it arrived at his home. Reports at the time of the incident note that as Rancloes and Parker fled Arsenault allegedly lit the vehicle containing Flanders on fire.

Flanders was shot in the chest, while Parker sustained injuries to his elbow, hand, leg, chest and shoulder and Rancloes was shot in the right shoulder with a 20-gauge shotgun.

The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant Attorney General Susan Morrell.
