Another winter storm wreaks havoc on schedules

January 21, 2011
REGION — The second winter storm of the week caused another series of postponements and cancellations for all the local high school teams.

After Tuesday's storm postponed those games a day, Friday's storm caused even more damage to the schedules across the board.

At Prospect Mountain High School, the boys' basketball team's game at Campbell was postponed a day until Saturday, Jan. 22, with JV at 5:30 p.m. and varsity following at 5 p.m. The Timber Wolf girls were slated to host the Cougars. That game was postponed until Feb. 10, with JV at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6:30 p.m. The ski team's meet at Ragged Mountain was cancelled.

At Kingswood, the boys' hoop team's home game with Coe-Brown was postponed a day. The games will now be held on Saturday, Jan. 22, with freshmen at 2 p.m., JV at 3:30 p.m. and varsity at 5 p.m. The Knight girls will travel to Coe-Brown for a 3:30 p.m. (JV) and 5 p.m. (varsity) start. The Knight hockey team was slated to host Merrimack and that game was postponed until Sunday, Jan. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at Pop Whalen Arena.

The Kennett and Kingswood alpine teams were supposed to ski at King Pine, but that meet was cancelled.

At Kennett, the girls' basketball team was slated to host Brady, while the boys were slated to travel to Concord to take on the Giants. Both games were moved until Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 5 and 6:30 p.m. The Eagle ski jumping team's lone home meet of the season was also postponed. The Eagle fliers will now take to the jump on the Kanc on Friday, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m. The Kennett indoor track team's qualifying meet at UNH was cancelled.
