Animal lovers— and, of course, their furry companions — are invited to gather in Schouler Park on Saturday, Sept. 25, to enjoy vendors, games and interactive activities offered in the Walk for the Animals and Bark in the Park Pet Expo. Among the many attractions will be the much-loved Puppy Kissing Booth, featuring the glamorous Ella in her fashionable floral garland (see photo). Courtesy Photo. (click for larger version)

The Walk for the Animals will begin with Yappy Hour on Friday evening, Sept. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Four Your Paws Only. This is an opportunity to register early for Saturday's walk and to mingle with other animal lovers. Complimentary Muttinis will once again be offered to the canines and there will be appetizers for both dogs and their people.

Saturday's registration in Schouler Park will begin at 8:15 a.m. The Walk for the Animals will commence at 9:30 a.m. Top teams and individuals will receive awards at 10:45 a.m. and all Bark in the Park activities begin at 10 a.m. All walkers who donate $30 or more will receive a one-of-a-kind t-shirt and a doggie goodie bag.

Many new vendors will be on hand this year offering pet products and services and there will be several booths selling food.

Highlights of the Bark in the Park this year include the interactive agility ring, carnival games, dog show, the Animal Communicator and the jump chute. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, puppy kissing booth, doggy makeovers with Karla's Pet Rendezvous and so much more.

The demo portion of the day will feature a K9 presentation by the NH State Police K9 unit and Officer Brittany Perley from the Carroll County Sheriff's Department K9 unit.

Bark in the Park lead sponsors for 2010 are Wellness Pet Foods and Adventure Suites.
