On Aug. 3, the revitalized Bernerhof Inn B&B re-opened as Mt. Washington Valley's newest premier inn. Today, the Bernerhof offers a distinctive destination for romantic escapes and getaways, featuring 12 spacious and beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, each equipped with flat screen TVs and eco-friendly fireplaces. Many rooms also offer deep double whirlpool tubs, with some tucked into the turrets of the building, and two newly opened ADA compliant rooms accommodate those with limited accessibility or special needs.

While the European style and distinctive décor still preserve the legacy of the renowned inn, the "tendency toward tech," with plenty of today's most modern electronic gadgets, sets it apart — especially for the traveler who prefers to travel "plugged in."

Local newspapers are still delivered to doors, but guests also have the opportunity to catch up on the news via Apple's new iPad, available for each room. The Bernerhof Inn is one of the first in the country to debut the "IPad per room" program. Signature apps give Bernerhof guests the chance to try out the newest in iPad technology while staying connected to the web and their email. A new Apple iMac computer, together with an Epson All-In-One printer, are found on each floor for guest use along with complimentary Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the inn. Each room comes equipped with an iPod docking station and flat screen TV with DVD players. The inn also offers a DVD library for guests. All of these high tech goodies are offered to the Bernerhof Inn guests completely free of additional charges.

Guests of the Bernerhof are also treated to plenty of extras beyond the tech toys. A hearty gourmet breakfast is served each morning in the newly designed dining room featuring private tables for two or four. Additionally, a complimentary afternoon tea is served in the dining room from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Come evenings, the Black Bear Pub opens exclusively for guests' use. A collection of locally and regionally crafted beers along with guests' favorite wines are offered in the pub.

"While I have been involved in real estate in the Mt. Washington Valley for 48 years, this is my first foray into innkeeping," noted Badger. "I'm delighted with the results of the extensive renovations and redecorating we've done."

Melissa Leonard and Leonard Magliocca, with a decade of hospitality experience, are ideally positioned as the new innkeepers of The Bernerhof Inn Bed & Breakfast and are looking forward to greeting guests from throughout the world.
