Antique Sale and Appraisal Day plus live auction set for July 18

Buxton has been auctioning and appraising antiques, fine arts, decorative arts, furniture, silver and other items all over the United States for 38 years. He primarily does appraisals for insurance, estates, and fair market value. His client list also consists of museums, historical societies, and many private collections. Appraisal fees are $8 for one item, $15 for two items, $20 for three items and all proceeds will benefit the Lovell Historical Society. He will be conducting appraisals from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the front parlor of the historic Kimball-Stanford House.
The live auction will begin at 2 p.m. Items to be auctioned are: two Red Sox tickets (Aug. 24, Fenway Park, Sec. 23 Box 136, Red Sox vs. Seattle Mariners); 2011 season membership to Lake Kezar Country Club, courtesy of the Club; two cords of split firewood to be delivered the day of the auction, courtesy of Lovell Logging & Tree Service; week stay at Samoset Resort beginning July 30 (sleeps four); decorative sign bracket by Lovell artist Rod Blood; one heating oil fill-up, courtesy of Molloy Energy (up to 200 gallons); week stay at cabin on Farrington's Pond (sleeps six to eight, time to be agreed upon with owners); Historic Cocktail Party Cruise for four on Kezar Lake (includes drinks, hors d'oeuvres and lake tour); original Ebenezer Kezar's Pub Sign, courtesy of Ebenezer's; 30-minute flight over Kezar Lake and the surrounding area; day rental of a pontoon boat, courtesy of Kezar Lake Marina (includes a full tank of gas, holds up to 12 people); dinner and show at Quisisana for four, courtesy of Jane Orans and Quisisana.
There will also be three exciting raffle items: Victorian mirror with Gesso frame donated by William Doyle Antiques; 14k white gold cameo brooch/pendant donated by North Country Fair Jewelers; and Cathedral Pickle Bottle donated by Kezar Antiques. A book of tickets is priced at $5 for six tickets or $1 per ticket. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase the day of the event and the drawing will be held at 3 p.m.
The event will be held at the Kimball-Stanford House on Route 5, directly across from the Lake Kezar Country Club in Lovell. Admission is free and the event will be held indoors and undercover, on the off-chance of inclement weather.
