Annalee outlet moving to former Jackson's Star location

June 02, 2010
MEREDITH — Annalee Dolls will be moving to a new home in the former Jackson's Star space.

Annalee Dolls' outlet store recently started a seven-day schedule for the summer at its outlet on 50 Reservoir Road. Many of its former buildings are now under the process of construction by the Winnipesaukee Playhouse for use as a new theater campus.

"With all the construction going on around us for the Winni Playhouse, it was just time for us to make the jump to a new location," said Pete Pelletier, creative director for Annalee Mobilitee Dolls. "Luckily there's a space across the street that's perfect."

Annalee will be moving to the Old Province Common on Route 104 in the store space formerly occupied by Jackson's Star Market.

Pelletier said the new location is a big space with good visibility from Route 104.

Annalee's current location is being cleaned out. Pelletier said this has been an involved process with many back rooms in the facility, as the space was the original chicken coop for the Thorndike's barn. Items that have been found include old dolls that need to be sorted through as well as old drawings and photos.

"We're in the process of spring cleaning," Pelletier said.

Construction has begun on the store and offices in the new building. Pelletier said hopes are that the outlet will be in its new location and open by mid-July with the full move-in anticipated in September or October.

In the meantime, the outlet store is open in its original location with its summer seven-day a week schedule.

"We're hoping for a busy Memorial Day," Pelletier said. "The construction's hard because people see the big trucks, they see the huge mounds of dirt, and they don't know if were open. We hope people see past that."

Pelletier said the move will provide great opportunities for the store, including more visibility with excellent signage.

"It's going to be great, we're really excited," Pelletier said. "There's a lot of good businesses next to us … I think it will be a great move."
