In Tamworth, Abraham wins seat on board of selectmen

TAMWORTH — Bob Abraham beat Patricia Farley in the race for selectmen at the polls on Tuesday night.

Abraham defeated Farley by a tally of 464 to 396, earning the only open three-year spot on the board.

In the race for two school board seats, write in candidate Laura Pike earned a spot on the board by receiving 307 votes. Charles Pugh was also elected to the school board with 547 votes. Norma Johnson and Marie M.D. Labrie were unsuccessful school board candidates. Johnson received 267 votes and Labrie received 275 votes.

In the race for two, three-year seats planning board, Fred Nason and Rebecca Boyden were both elected out of a crowd of four candidates. Nason received 469 votes, Boyden received 452, David Gaudet received 290 and David Goodson received 234. In the race for a two-year seat on the planning board Steve Gray beat Sandra Flanagan by a score of 483 to 308. In the race for fireward east, John Hartley defeated Shawn Bross by a tally of 442 to 247. In the race for school moderator, write in candidate George Cleveland beat three other write in candidates with 83 votes. Other candidates for school moderator were: Chris Canfield received 20, Kent Hemingway received 54, and Paul Chant received 21. In the race for town moderator, Chris Canfield ran won with 726 votes while write in candidate George Cleveland received 19. In the race for town treasurer, Mary Mills ran unopposed and received 739 votes. In the race for supervisor of the checklist, Sharon Nothnagele ran unopposed and received 706 votes. In the race for three library trustee seats, A. Lloyd Hadden received 562 votes, Andrea Kennett received 601 votes, and Sharon Malenfant received 561 votes. In the race for fireward south, Milton Norcross ran unopposed and received 675 votes. In the race for fireward north, David Bowles ran unopposed and received 697 votes. In the race for fireward at large, Dana Littlefield received 665 votes while write in candidate Shawn Bross got four.

School District Clerk Kathi Brown ran unopposed and received 697 votes. School district treasurer Janet Conner ran unopposed and received 697 votes.
