Following the Dec. 26 event, Attitash will kick off the New Year with the First Annual Attitash Giant Slalom Race on Jan. 2, open to all with a cost of only $10 per racer.

An event of exceptional interest is the Third Annual Military Salute Weekend on Jan. 23 and 24 to honor the special men and women who have chosen to defend and serve our country in so many ways. Attitash is proud to provide past and present troops with free lift tickets for active, veteran and retired service men and women, as well as discounted tickets for active duty family members with valid ID.

To nominate a member of our military service as a Military Salute Weekend honoree, simply visit the Attitash web site and complete the information form listed at http://www.attitash.com/military form.html and send the information to Attitash.

In addition to the pictorial displays of our honorees in the Base Lodge, included among the activities will be the U.S. Air Force Colonial Brass Band performing outdoors during the Flag Parade and Color Guard ceremony, while the Air Force rock band, Afterburner, performs in Ptarmigan's Pub from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Sunday's schedule of activities will also feature a new fun race between the military branches in which everyone is invited to participate and represent their designated military service branch. Our traditional on-snow obstacle course will be set up for your enjoyment on Sunday as well.

For further information, or to nominate someone as a Military Salute Honoree, visit http://attitash.com/ events.html.
