Timber Wolves fall for first time since 2007
April 30, 2009
BELMONT — The Prospect Mountain baseball team last lost a game in the final week of the regular season of 2007.
They went on to win the final two games of that season, then swept through the four rounds of the playoffs for the school's first state championship.
The Timber Wolves returned to action last season and won 22 games in a row, taking their second straight Class M title.
The Prospect boys then won the first five games of this season, stretching their winning streak to an impressive 33 games.
That all came to an end on Wednesday, April 29, as the Timber Wolves traveled to Belmont and lost an 8-6 decision to the Red Raiders, a team the Timber Wolves beat on the first day of the season in New Durham.
Look for more details on this game and the team's other two games this week in next week's print edition of The Baysider.
