Accident claims life of Berlin woman

SANBORNTON — On Sunday, Nov. 15 at approximately 11:53 a.m., New Hampshire State Police Troop D responded to a single motor vehicle crash on Interstate 93 South in the area of mile marker 63.2 in the town of Sanbornton. Upon arrival, a single vehicle was found that had driven off the roadway to the left into the median. The vehicle was identified as a Toyota Rav4.

Based upon the initial investigation, the vehicle was travelling southbound in the left lane before drifting off the roadway and into the median. The vehicle then collided with a tree with the front end of the vehicle. The operator was identified as Barbara of Berlin, age 73.

The operator sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on scene.

Interstate 93 South was reduced to one lane for approximately two hours.
