Meredith Pantry donation boxes at four Common Man restaurants

October 15, 2020
MEREDITH — Visitors to select Common Man restaurants can do some more good for the community by contributing donations to the Meredith Food Pantry.

Four restaurants now have bins set up that will take nonperishable food donations through the end of the month.

Collection boxes for donations can be found at Lago, Camp, and the Lakehouse Grill in Meredith and The Route 104 Diner in New Hampton to provide some extra support as the holidays grow nearer. The donation boxes will be out until the end of October.

The Meredith Food Pantry is still open to anyone who needs extra help, especially in this difficult time.

Back in April, Pantry Director Barbara Rayno said the pantry has been seeing an increase in requests due to economic hardships caused by coronavirus related shutdowns, furloughs, and layoffs. They are in need of food donations and have been spreading the word to the public. She said they have been getting a lot of checks from people. While they appreciate every donation right now, Rayno said donations of nonperishable food are the most needed.

The Meredith Food Pantry is its own independent organization but received support from Community Action Program, Belknap-Merrimack Counties

The food pantry is located at 147 Main St. in Meredith and is currently open Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. For more information, call 279-4096.
