Woman dies after swimming in Waukewan

MEREDITH — A Connecticut woman died after being found unconscious while swimming in Lake Waukewan.

According to a statement by New Hampshire Marine Patrol, on Wednesday, Aug. 5, Marine Patrol was notified of an unresponsive swimmer on Lake Waukewan.

Amanda L. Daigle, 22, of Trumbull, Conn., was swimming with friends when she was found unconscious not far from the shore she was swimming from. She was brought to shore and received CPR until rescuers arrived on the scene.

Daigle was transported by Stewart's Ambulance to Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, and then transported by DHART helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. She died after arriving at Dartmouth-Hitchcock. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday, Aug. 7.
