MOULTONBOROUGH — Moultonborough Academy hosted a track and field meet on May 11 where Tyler McLaughlin set a new school record in the 3,200 meters with a time of 9:59.24.

According to Coach Dave Severance, he believes the time is the first ever sub 10 minute time run on a Moultonborough Academy track. He called it an "amazing solo run" with no competition, adding that the last lap at 70 seconds to break the 10-minute mark took guts.

Jack Fogerty qualified for the state championship in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.14 seconds. He is now qualified in the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes.

Freshman Erin Hurley set her personal record in the 800 meters, and qualified for the state championship, with a time of 2:41.24. Fellow freshman Landon Keyser had a personal record in the 400 meters with a time just under 58 seconds.

Senior captain Dylan McLaughlin had a personal record in the 1,600-meter dash with a time of 4:44. Fellow senior captain Sare Campbell also had a personal record in the 1,600 meters with a time of 5:49.

Other highlights included a great day for Seamus Gleason, who had 2:19 in the 800 meters. Junior Cam Bennett had a time of 46.44 seconds in the 300 hurdles, which is approaching a record time. Freshman Lauren Rollins had a personal record in the 400 meters with 71 seconds. Sarah Shannon, another freshman, won the javelin and discus. She qualified for the state meet with a discus toss of 75 feet, which was also a personal record.
