Filing period for Wolfeboro public offices ends on Feb. 1

WOLFEBORO — At the start of the first day of filing for public office, Selectman Chuck Storm signed up to run for the three-year term available this voting season, and Police Commissioner Ron Goodgame also opted to continue his public service on the commission for the open three year slot. On Monday Brad Harriman also filed for the three-year selectmen's postion, setting up a contest with Storm.

Other Wolfeboro positions also up for grabs are: Treasurer for one year (incumbent John Burt has filed for re-election); Trustee of Trust Funds for one year (incumbent Dick Shurtleff has filed); Library Trustee for three years (incumbent Linda Matchett has filed); three Budget Committee members, each for a three-year stint (incumbent Bob Tougher has filed for one); and two planning board positions for three years each (incumbent Kathy Barnard has filed for one).

The police commissioner position comes with the requirement of five years prior residency.

Registered voters can file for any open position up to 5 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 1.

Voting will take place on Tuesday, March 12, in the undercroft of All Saints Episcopal Church from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Registered voters will have to show a valid ID to vote. Same day registration is offered with a valid ID and proof of residency.
