TWIN MOUNTAIN — On Saturday, Aug. 8, at approximately 4:40 p.m., the Carroll Police Department along with Twin Mountain Fire and Rescue Responded to Route 302 East at the intersection of Base Road for reported two car motor vehicle accident involving Littleton Police Department's Deputy Chief, Chris Tyler.

Carrol Police Chief Tadd Bailey said, "Upon investigation it was found that vehicle number one, being operated by a Jonairy Ramirez of Worcester, Mass. attempted to turn onto Base Road from Route 302 East. Ramirez failed to see vehicle number two, traveling West on Route 302 as it made the turn and turned directly in front of vehicle two colliding with it."

Ramirez was driving a white Chevy Impala and according to Tyler there was very little time to react.

In total, there were eight individuals between both vehicles and two subjects were transported to Littleton Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.

Tyler and his family were uninjured.

According to Tyler, everyone involved was quite lucky.

"The motor vehicle accident was really unfortunate to say the least for everyone involved. Luckily everyone was able to walk away with only minor injuries from what I am told," he explained.

He went on to say, "Modern vehicle safety initiatives played a big part in helping prevent serious injury that day. All the first responders were great and very responsive to the situation. As I had mentioned a big thank you to Carroll PD, New Hampshire state police and the Twin Mountain Fire Rescue."

Lastly, Tyler said, "There were also several complete strangers who were passing by who stopped to help. That was very decent and reassuring that in time of need people are still willing to help one another."
