WHITEFIELD — Last year the Spartan girls' soccer team finished the season with 12 wins and four losses. With many key players graduated, coach Jon Going said this season will be used to rebuild.

Going said, "This season our key players will be Hallie Chancey, Sierra Lamphere, Amaya Dodier, Kaitlyn Nelson and Blayne LaChance."

Going added, "Underclassmen Lydia Bealieau and Lexi Welch are already showing promise as future team leaders."

Assisting Going, who is entering his sixth year as head coach, is Brent Covell. Covell has been with the team for three years.

The goal this season is simple, according to Going, "I'd like to win our homecoming game and host a playoff game."

The Spartans will host their first home game of the season against Gorham today, Aug. 24 at 4 p.m.
