January 16, 2013LANCASTER — Downtown will soon boast an Irish-themed restaurant and bar.
J. L. Sullivan's Irish Pub & Restaurant, which opened about two years ago at the west end of the Cabot Motor Inn on Route 2, plans to move early next month to 26 Main Street — Routes 2 and 3 — into the well-located space recently vacated by Puleo's Steak and Seafood and earlier by the New England Cattle Company, according to manager Nicole White.
Owner Dermot Stapleton is in the process of applying for the necessary licenses and also plans to make some changes.
The cattle- and cowboy-themed items will be removed and Irish décor installed well before St. Patrick's Day.
Although J. L. Sullivan's has been open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, Stapleton plans to serve lunch, at least some of the time.
"We would like to thank all our wonderful customers for their continued support and hope you will all visit us at our new home," he posted on its Facebook page. "Keep checking for updates and maybe even a few sneak peaks at the exciting new changes we are making."
J. L. Sullivan's employs some eight to 10 employees, depending on the season and day of the week.
