Huggins offers free flu shots in hospital's Vaccine Clinic

October 13, 2021
WOLFEBORO — Huggins Hospital will hold free flu shot clinics in the hospital from Oct. 13 to Nov. 5 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. This year, to alleviate strain on limited resources, hospital staff have developed a plan to utilize the current Vaccine Clinic space located at the back of the hospital campus in order to provide both flu and COVID-19 vaccines in the same place. While the traditional Drive Thru Flu Shot Clinic will not take place in 2021, Huggins Hospital staff look forward to having an opportunity to bring that event back in the future.

The free flu shots will be available in Huggins Hospital's Vaccine Clinic on Wednesdays from 1 – 3 p.m., Thursdays from 1 – 6 p.m. and Fridays from 1 – 3 p.m. from Oct. 13 through Nov. 5. Community members can schedule an appointment for a free flu shot by calling 603-569-7691 during the business hours of 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you are a primary care patient with Huggins Hospital, you can also call your primary care provider's office and follow the prompts to schedule a flu shot with the hospital's Vaccine Clinic.

October is a good time to be vaccinated against influenza. If you miss the opportunity to be vaccinated during October, the CDC recommends getting vaccinated as long as the flu viruses are circulating, even in January or later. As a change from last year, community members can now receive their flu vaccine at the same time as their COVID-19 vaccine if needed.

To schedule an appointment for a free flu shot at Huggins Hospital, please call 603-569-7691.
