EATON — The 140-year-old Little White Church on Crystal Lake is one of the most photographed and admired views in New England, especially in autumn as its surrounded by brilliant foliage. This fall, however, there will be a very important piece missing – the steeple.

In July, workers removed the iconic steeple and the Church's board of trustees are beginning to raise the needed $100,000 to replace it. As it turns out, a leak in the roof led to the discovery of rotten support beams, and the steeple had to be removed for safety reasons.

The church hosts musical and holiday events, weddings, and other community activities in its non-denominational space and is often referred to as "the soul of Eaton."
