March 13, 2014OSSIPEE — In an early morning sweep on Monday, March 10, police arrested nine people in two towns, all suspected of selling heroin.
The arrests of two women and seven men, according to police, were the result of a "lengthy" investigation. From Effingham, police arrested Steven Vantassel, 42 and John Parsons, 21. From Ossipee, police arrested Casey Morgan, 26; James Jennings, 19; Jeffrey Lamarche, 35; Mark Galloway, 33; Christopher McCarthy, 23; and Aerielle Glazier, 21.
After an hour-long standoff at his Chickville Road Ossipee residence that included negotiation with N.H. State Police SWAT team, Curt Dow, 50, also surrendered to police. Dow had been out on bail awaiting trial since his May 2013 arrest when he was charged with possession and intent to sell heroin and prescription drugs and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
This is also the second arrest for heroin sales for Jennings who was arrested and charged with three counts on Aug. 27, 2013.
Ossipee Police Chief James Eldridge issued a stern warning last year following Dow's arrest, putting drug dealers on "notice that illegal drugs will not be tolerated anymore in Ossipee."
Ossipee Police were assisted in Monday's sweep by police from Madison, Freedom, Effingham, and the Carroll County Sheriff's Department.
