GILFORD — The Berlin cross country team and a lone runner from Gorham competed in the Early Bird Invitational at Gunstock Mountain Resort on Thursday, Sept. 2. The meet was hosted by Gilford High School.

In the boys' race, David Young was the top Berlin finisher, crossing in a time of 20:58 for 17th place overall.

Cole Rutiger was 43rd overall in a time of 24:16 and Brannon Bowe ran to 61st place overall in a time of 25:46.

In the girls' race, Cora Treiss finished in 23rd place overall with a time of 26:08.

Gorham's Zoe Grondin finished in a time of 27:54 for 35th place overall, with Berlin's Mya Wedge finishing in a time of 30:12 for 42nd place.

The Mountaineers are scheduled to host the Paul Letarte Invitational at Great Glen Trails in Pinkham Notch on Saturday, Sept. 11.
