Milan church welcomes new pastor

July 30, 2020
MILAN — There is a new pastor in Milan.

Pastor Eungil Cho is now leading the Milan Community United Methodist church. The church services are still being broadcast on radio 98.7fm with a signal that reaches just around the Milan downtown and the church parking lot.

Pastor Eungil Cho was born in South Korea and lived there until 13 years old. He then lived for 6 years in India, where his parents served as missionaries. He returned to Pohang Korea and got a B.A. in English and Counseling. As a young man he served in the Korean Air Force as an interpretation officer. Pastor Cho worked at Samsung Technologies for five years before entering the School of Theology at Boston University. He completed his Master of Divinity degree there this May. His internship was in Greenland NH and included leading worship services and the Young adults group. Pastor Cho is going to be joined in Milan this autumn by his wife Jayun Lee and his young son Joshua Cho.

The pandemic restrictions were lifted early between Massachusetts and New Hampshire and he was able to begin leading the church as soon as Pastor Steve MacLeod and his family moved. Pastor Cho brings some technology experience with him. The Sunday morning services beginning at 10:30am are now streamed live to the church's Facebook page. For the computer savvy this means being able to maintain social distancing. There are people who prefer gathering together. Those folks have the option of listening on the car radio to the service in the parking lot. Masks and sanitizer are available at the church if a situation arises where it is needed. Welcome to the new pastor.
