Gorham 4th of July spectacular canceled

May 20, 2020
GORHAM — The 4th of July Committee and the Town of Gorham have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's celebration. Several factors led to this decision, including, the uncertain future of the Governor's stay at home orders.

The cancellation of many events throughout New England has also led to the possibility that we may not be able to secure the carnival or the fireworks show. The success of the event relies on many pieces coming together, including the carnival and fireworks, as well as the sponsorship of many local businesses.

We realize that many people have enjoyed this event, which has become a much-anticipated tradition in the Town of Gorham. The health of our residents and visitors is the top priority of Town officials as we work through the pandemic and, as such, we feel it is in the best interest of everyone to make this decision.

Stay tuned to the Town of Gorham's FaceBook page, website and local media for details on a home and business Decorating Contest. Show us your Red, White, and Blue and remember we will get through this! We look forward to celebrating bigger and better in 2021!
