BERLIN —The start of a series of Androscoggin Valley Chamber of Commerce events begins with Brewtopia every year. The annual beer and ale tasting event took place at the White Mountain Chalet and Caterers on Saturday, and it was once again successful.

"The 12th Annual Brewtopia was a great kickoff to the 2018 event season," said Chamber Executive Director Paula Kinney.

There was a decent crowd of ale tasters and testers, beer enthusiasts, brewery vendors and spectators. Folks made their way to each concession stand where they sipped and sampled from different breweries including Belgium Brewing, Peak Brewing Company, Shipyard Brewing, Seadog Brewing, Tuckerman's Brewing, Anheuser Busch and Cisco Brewing.

Aside from taste-testing, there were many prizes, giveaways raffles and promotional items donated by local businesses. There was a photo booth. There was plenty of food. There was an array of sports memorabilia auctioned off.

The country/pop band Duke concluded the night with music entertainment.

The Chamber and New Hampshire distributors always encourage people to drink responsibly and have a designated driver.

The event was presented by New Hampshire Distributors as the title sponsor.

Other sponsors were Aerial Site Communications, Great North Woods Container, Berlin City Chevrolet/ Buick/GMC, Capone Iron, Chapman Recycling, ReMax and Northern Edge Realty.

More than $600 of items were raffled and given away.

Businesses that donated prizes were Toni's Pizza Deli & Sub Shop, Mr. Pizza, Royalty Athletic Club, Northland Restaurant & Dairy Bar, Yokohama Restaurant, Scoggins General Store, Town & Country Motor Inn, J's Corner, Rudy's Market, Floral Design's by Raegan, Hall of Greetings, Sinibaldi's Restaurant, Gorham House Florist, Jericho Deli, Caron Building & Rental and Fagin's Pub.

The next Chamber events this summer are the Red Neck Poker Run, Paddlemania, Wingzilla, the ATV Fest and RiverFire.
