January 24, 2018NORTH CONWAY — The Gorham alpine team traveled through Pinkham Notch on Friday, Jan. 19, for a meet hosted by Division II power Kennett.
The morning giant slalom took more than two hours to get through due to a timing issue and two separate crashes that resulted in racers having to be assisted by ski patrol on the Cranmore Mountain slopes.
The Eagles and Huskies were joined by Kingswood, Oyster River and Hanover for the meet.
When all was said and done in the giant slalom, the Huskies finished in second place behind the Eagles while they slipped to fourth place in the afternoon slalom.
Karyssa Lachance led the way in the giant slalom for Gorham, finishing in second place overall with a combined time of 1:27.3.
Danielle Cotnoir was next for Gorham, finishing in 12th place in 1:34.87, with Riley Fitzmorris finishing in 15th place in 1:39.94.
Olivia Halle rounded out the scoring for the Gorham girls with a time of 1:43.13 for 20th place overall.
Amira Robertson was 32nd in 1:51.56, Hannah Fox was 35th in 1:56.27 and Phoebe Ross was 41st in 2:14.0
Lachance skied to the win in the afternoon slalom, finishing with a combined time of 1:14.02.
Robertson moved up to 13th place overall in 1:30.56 and Fitzmorris was 22nd in a time of 1:37.48.
Cotnoir rounded out the scoring with a time of 1:38.39 for 24th place overall.
Halle was 25th in 1:38.86 and Ross was 43rd in 2:25.16.
The Gorham boys finished fourth overall in the morning giant slalom and moved up to third in the afternoon slalom.
Ben Harmon led the charge for Gorham, finishing in 1:32.34 for seventh place overall.
Melvin Olson was 16th overall in 1:38.95 and Lex Mayerson was the third scorer in 1:44.52 for 24th place.
Bryce Gauthier rounded out the scoring in 26th place in 1:50.65.
Josh Godin was 29th in 1:54.37, Tristan Robertson finished 30th in 1:55.22, Jordan Lukaszewski was 31st in 1:55.55 and Hunter Ingersoll finished in 2:11.1 for 36th place overall.
Harmon again led the Gorham skiers in the slalom, finishing in sixth place overall in 1:18.52.
Teagan Leclerc was next for Gorham, placing 14th in 1:25.21 and Nolan York was third amongst Huskies, placing 21st in 1:31.5.
Olson rounded out the scoring for Gorham with a time of 1:32.21 for 22nd place.
Robertson was 24th in 1:34.96, Gauthier finished 30th in 1:40.13, Godin was 32nd in 1:48.18, Lukaszewski was 36th in 2:01.1 and Ingersoll was 39th in 2:12.11.
