3-day Great North Woods Sleddog Challenge now Colebrook only

Races set at Jericho State Park on March 8-9

February 05, 2014
GREAT NORTH WOODS — The first two legs of what was originally planned as a three-leg Sled Dog Stage Race has been downsized to a single day, reports Race Director Jaye Foucher (http://www.nhstagerace.com). What was named the first annual Sleddog Challenge had to be curtailed for lack of sufficient snow, Foucher explained.

The first two stages, originally scheduled on Feb. 8 in Twin Mountain and on Feb. 10 at Jericho State Park in Berlin, is now only set for Sunday, Feb. 9, starting at the Colebrook Country Club motel on Route 26 in Colebrook. Teams will start arriving at 8 a.m. at the staging area and the 20-mile race is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

The first mushers are expected over the finish line at about 11:15 a.m.

The good news, however, is that the North Country Mushers and Real Life Adventures of Twin Mountain are planning two days of racing on March 8 & 9 weekend at Jericho State Park in Berlin.
