Pete & Vicky Giannos to retire, 3 sons to run Supreme Pizza

December 11, 2013
BERLIN — By month's end, Pete and Vasiliki (Vicky) Giannos plan to retire, turning the Supreme Pizza restaurant at 244 Main Street over to their three sons — Greg, Kosta, and Chris — to run.

Pete prepared the delicious spaghetti and meatballs for Saturday evening's fundraising spaghetti dinner held at the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church on Petrograd Street.

His 18-year-old grandson Dimitri, one of three grandchildren, is a 2013 Berlin High School graduate who is now a first-year student at White Mountains Community College majoring in business, was on hand to enjoy his granddad's cooking. Dimitri hopes some day to be able to open his own fitness gym.

Pete explained that he was born in Greece in 1952 and came to America in 1971 after he and his wife were married. They first settled in Medway, Mass., and later moved to Berlin where they operated Supreme Pizza.

The couple hopes to travel to Athens this spring to attend a family wedding and to see many relatives in Greece. They have not been back for about five years, Vicky said.

They also have a daughter who maintains an active dentist's practice out of state. Dr. Roula Giannos graduated from Boston University and Tufts Dental School.
