ALTON — An open house was held at the B&M Railroad Park this past Sunday.

Visitors to the park got to tour the newly renovated Loon Cove station. The majority of the work was done by Marty and Mike Cornelissen. All funds for improvements to the park were raised through private donations.

The brothers worked together on the restoration project with Nelson Kennedy.

Visitors to the open house enjoyed refreshments provided by Hart's Turkey Farm and had the chance to put their name in for gift certificates for Alton True Value and Alton Home & Lumber.

Visitors to the station were sure to notice the period ceiling oil lamp that was recently donated by Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gardner and the railroad bench donated by Mary Downing and the B&M Railroad Stove donated by Jeannine Palm.
