"Stand Up" forum sees strong turnout

More than 100 attend to discuss concerns about heroin abuse across the region

BERLIN — The "Facing Heroin: Strengthening Our Community" forum jumped started a new coalition "Stand Up Androscoggin Valley Coalition" and a public forum was held last Wednesday at the Berlin High School Cafeteria where more than 100 people attended. Mountie girls come up short against Franklin

BERLIN The Berlin softball Mountaineers played well against the tough Franklin Tornadoes on May 17, coming back and tying the game 5-5 in the third inning, but Franklin came out on top in an extra inning after a home run plated three for an 8-5 win. Both teams scored in the first inning. In the top, Franklin scored two runs. In the bottom, Chelsey Caron walked, stole second and made it to third after a sacrifice from Meagan Accardi.
